Stan Wawrinka officially accepted a wild card and has been added to the Citi Open player list.
The now 201-ranked Wawrinka, formerly ranked as high as 3 in the world, has had some inconsistent results since returning from a nagging knee injury. Wawrinka has felt more positive coming out of the injury. “The knee is getting way better. I still have a lot of work to do physically and also tenniswise to be to my top level,” said Wawrinka.
Even after the injuries and his journey back to the tennis court, Wawrinka’s experience makes him a true contender for the title in Washington D.C. this year. Watch out for Stan the Man’s comeback.
