After some time off for both legends, Roger Federer and Andy Murray have returned.
Federer made his first appearance on tour after not playing for more than a year this week in Doha. The 39 year old is towards the very end of his career but clearly has some more tennis to give us. He beat Daniel Evans in a 3 set thriller in the first round, but then lost to eventual champion Nikoloz Basilashvili in straights. We can’t wait to see Roger go on another run soon.
Andy Murray made his return last month and most recently competed in Rotterdam. He snagged his first win on the ATP Tour since the 2020 US Open after defeating Robin Haase.
He was then taken down by eventual champion Andrey Rublev in the second round. Andy explained post match that he was able to “learn a lot” from that match with Rublev, being that Andrey has been a huge force on tour during Andy’s absence.
Moral of the story here is that two of the greatest tennis players of all time, Roger Federer and Andy Murray, are back.
