Rafael Nadal Withdraws From Wimbledon, Kyrgios Advances

With Rafael Nadal being two matches away of winning his 23rd Grand Slam title, he has unfortunately had to pull out of his semi-final match against Nick Kyrgios. After Rafa’s thrilling match with Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals, Nadal himself was even questioning if he’d be able to play in the next round.

Rafa has experienced a tear in his abdomen, and attempted to practice Thursday before ultimately pulling out of the tournament. Rafa explained, “I made my decision because I believe I can’t win two matches under these circumstances.”

We wish the tennis great a speedy recovery and hope to see him more this summer. Nick Kyrgios will now advance into his first Grand Slam final.

After years of ups and downs, Kyrgios will get his chance to become a Wimbledon champion. Although it hasn’t been an easy road, Kyrgios has always seemed to produce flashes of amazing tennis over the years. This time around, he has been locked in and now has a chance to show critics he can be a Grand Slam champ.

Win or lose, Kyrgios has proven to the world he has what it takes to be at the top of the sport. Kyrgios + Djokovic = Blockbuster Tennis. The final is scheduled for Sunday at 9:00 AM eastern time.
